Naturopathic medicine is an evidence-based, coordinated approach to primary health-care that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. In addition to conventional training in health sciences and diagnostics, naturopathic doctors employ individualized therapies to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to health and healing. MSP offers partial funding for Naturopathic visits for people on premium assistance. Many Extended Health Plans completely or partially cover Naturopathic visits however most will not cover supplements. Please contact your insurance administrator for information. How are naturopathic physicians trained?

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) in BC receive a minimum of three years pre-medical training at university and then complete four years post-graduate training at an accredited naturopathic medical school.
